Podgorica, Montenegro (20 May 2020) – I am glad that the Government had the opportunity to join forces, with the judiciary, local government, trade union and private investor in support of this important project, whose total value exceeds EUR 7 million, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Zoran Pažin on the completed construction of two residential buildings for 130 families of judges and officials of courts in Podgorica.

Thanking the partner organizations for the successful cooperation on this significant project, DPM Pažin once again encouraged other Montenegrin municipalities to follow the example of the Capital and to similarly support addressing the housing needs of employees in judicial institutions in their communities.

"Protecting the integrity and dignity of those who work in state institutions, we strengthen the integrity of the state itself and the values on which we base the European future of Montenegro," the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out.

He expressed his belief that even in the difficult economic period ahead, Montenegrin society must not and will not forget the needs of employees in judicial institutions, but it will continue to protect the integrity and dignity of all employees in the judiciary, via similar and such as these projects.

He emphasized that the entire society rightly has great expectations from the Montenegrin judiciary, because the judiciary is the guardian and protector of our rights and freedoms, but also it is a reliance of the overall social and economic progress.

"These high expectations also imply the obligation of the society to ensure a decent material position of employees in the judiciary, on whose personal and professional integrity and dignity every judicial institution is based. Supporting such a projects, which enable judges and their associates to solve their housing needs in a quality and favourable way, we exactly show that Montenegrin society recognises and appreciates the social contribution and importance of justice," he added.

Deputy Prime Minister Pažin voiced satisfaction with the continuous improvement of the material position of employees in judicial institutions over the past years. "I am especially pleased that these residential buildings will be home not only to judges, but also to their associates, officials and employees of the courts in Podgorica, whose work daily makes an immeasurable contribution to the accomplishment of justice and the safety of Montenegrin citizens."
