Soldiers, an oath is a declaration of love, it is a vow of the future and a mark of the past. As of today, you are sworn to the state ideal, so serve faithfully as your ancestors weaved their essence into the survival and existence of Montenegro, said Minister of Defence Predrag Bosković on taking the oath of volunteers and soldiers under the contract.

The Minister said that Montenegro never allowed itself to be tied, recalling the legacy of kings Mihailo and Bodin, Balšić, Crnojević and Petrović, and then the Thirteenth July Uprising.

The Defence Minister pointed out that Montenegrin libertarians celebrated life most solemnly, laying it down in the name of freedom, for which they knew it was achievable.

Bošković called on the soldiers to be worthy heirs of the generations from the centuries behind us.

"Don't let other people's hymns deceive us, but stand confidently on the defence of our Montenegro, because compared to mentioned greats and fighters for the independence of Montenegro, there are mindless ideas about the disappearance of one's own homeland.

At the ceremony in Danilovgrad, which was held without parents for the first time, due to the situation related to the coronavirus pandemic, 76 newly admitted soldiers under contract and 36 soldiers on voluntary military service took the oath.
