Podgorica, Montenegro (27 May 2020) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković called earlier today on the competent authorities from the parliamentary rostrum to work diligently, as he said, if necessary day and night, in order to discover and prosecute individuals who are trying to endanger multinational and multi-religious harmony in Montenegro.

"We must not and will not allow that, because that harmony exactly is the most valuable thing that Montenegro has, and on which basis builds its development and its future," said the Prime Minister answering the question of the Parliamentary Club of the Bosniak party, the coalition "Shqiptaret and Vendosur - Albanians Decisively" - Forca, DUA and AA and the Croatian Civil Initiative, on cases of attacks on members of minority peoples.

The Prime Minister emphasised that every time we ask ourselves again and again, on how it is possible that even after the democratic and overall development that we have achieved, we still have a pronounced non - acceptance of the other and the different.

"On the entire planet, not only in Montenegro - efforts to see differences as something that enriches us are overshadowed by rioters," the Prime Minister said. He reiterated that he considers such attacks to be assaults on the foundations of the state of Montenegro and that they will be treated in that sense.

"I call on the competent authorities from this place to work diligently, and if necessary day and night, to discover and prosecute individuals who are trying to endanger the multinational and multi-religious harmony in Montenegro. We must not and will not allow that, because exactly the harmony is the most valuable thing that Montenegro has, and on which it builds its development and its future," Prime Minister Duško Marković pointed out.

The Prime Minister noted that a public and personal confrontation with individuals, who raise tension by placing disinformation, would make us, to the same extent, even worse than them. "That is exactly why, as a society, we rise above divisions and artificial conflicts, for the sake of the well-being of every citizen, no matter what culture or religion the citizen belongs to," the Prime Minister said.
