Design and construction of Visitor Centre on Bistrica contracted

Podgorica, Montenegro (28 May 2020) -- The Public Works Administration signed the Contract on design of the main project, construction and equipping the Visitor Centre on the banks of the Bistrica River in Bijelo Polje, based on the "design and build" system, under the valorisation project of Đalovića cave.
The value of the investment, which the Government of Montenegro will finance through the capital budget, amounts to EUR 893 thousand, while the job was assigned, in the public procurement procedure, to the Podgorica - based company "Permonte".
The deadline for preparation of the main project is 90 days from the date of signing the contract. Construction works must be completed within 240 days from the date of the introduction of the contractor into business.
The Visitor Centre with accompanying facilities and parking is part of the valorisation project of Đalovića cave, which is one of the largest construction projects in the field of tourism in Montenegro, worth about EUR 18 million. The Centre is planned on a location of 12 thousand square meters, while the facility itself will cover 500 square meters.
It will include a restaurant, an info desk with a souvenir shop, a museum-exhibition space, a presentation hall, an ambulance, a service for renting equipment, as well as an administrative block for employees. The facility which was designed to be in harmony with the natural environment, will be located along the road from the settlement of Bistrica to the Monastery Podvrh, whose construction is underway.
A parking lot with 42 places for cars will be build next to it, as well as special places for cars, motorcycles, bicycles, as well as for the needs of persons with reduced mobility.
The space for an adventure park and a promenade along the river that will be connected to the new bridge on Bistrica, was also foreseen. The regulation of the river Bistrica is planned, for the purpose of construction the Visitor Centre.
