Podgorica, Montenegro (4 June 2020) -- "If you consider the promotion of multiethnicity and multi - confessionality within the Euro-Atlantic agenda promoted by this Government as 'the erasure of traditional Montenegrin values,' then our polemics boils down to your unsuccessful attempt to collect political points. For, exactly Petar Drugi Petrović-Njegoš and the successors of his work are the best guarantor of our values," Minister of Culture Aleksandar Bogdanović said earlier today in the Assembly, answering the question from MP of the DF Veljko Vasiljević on whether the Government is standing behind the marginalization of Njegoš and who of the current ruling majority is the bearer and initiator of the eradication of traditional Montenegrin values.
When it comes to the Ivelić Palace, he reminded of the long-term cooperation of the University of Warsaw with the University of Montenegro at the sites in Risan, and that the Ministry of Culture agreed to make the palace available for use, in line with the provisions in the area of cultural protection, to the University of Warsaw for renewal and establishment of an international archaeological - research centre.
"That would contribute to Risan gaining in importance, both as a world scientific research centre and from the tourist aspect, which would boost economic valorisation of the city." It is important to mention that the funds for the revitalisation of the Ivelić Palace, in the amount of EUR 750.000, should have been allocated by the University of Warsaw," Minister Bogdanović pointed out.
