Address by DPM Simović on promoting publication: "Clinical Centre – COVID 19 Challenges"
Published on: Jun 5, 2020 • 8:23 PM Author: PR Service
Dear Director Eraković,
Dear employees of the Clinical Centre,
Dear members of the National Coordination Body,
Dear friends,
Ladies and gentlemen,
Thank you for the opportunity to address you on the occasion of the publication, which will remain as a testimony to the role and importance of the Clinical Centre in the overall response of Montenegro to COVID-19.
Behind all of us are five challenging months, hundreds of days and hundreds of nights in which we together cared, created and together gave answers to the global, still ongoing, challenge COVID-19. A challenge even for economically much more developed countries, with much stronger health systems.
Today, after all that, my assessments and my observations will fit into three messages: CONGRATULATIONS, THANK YOU and we CONTINUE.
CONGRATULATIONS to all employees in the Montenegrin health system, and especially in its key pillar in the Clinical Centre of Montenegro,
CONGRATULATIONS on the shown timeliness, determination, professionalism and commitment,
CONGRATULATIONS on the establishment and efficient functioning of crisis management,
CONGRATULATIONS on all of this, for it was an expression of responsible and, I will add, patriotic attitude of the institution and employees in this situation, which was a serious threat to the health and lives of our citizens.
THANK YOU to all employees in the health system of Montenegro, and today here, especially THANK YOU to the employees of the Clinical Centre. And to those who were on the front line, who cared for and treated COVID patients, and to all others who worked in other wards and, as far as possible, provided other necessary health services, which could not be delayed.
I THANK the support staff at the Clinical Centre: in the kitchen, waitresses, hygienists, maintenance staff, drivers, porters - in a word EVERYONE.
I THANK YOU for your openness and professional, but above all the human communication with patients and families of those, who were treated by COVID at the Clinical Centre.
And then when the efforts made did not yield the result you fought for, when you, like all of us, had to face the fact that human life failed to be saved, which was the holiest and most important.
I THANK YOU for the especially valuable contribution, which Dr. Eraković, in addition to the leading position in the Clinical Centre, gave in the work of the National Coordination Body; the Crisis Medical Staff, all its numerous members and special teams, led by Dr. Lazović – who contributed to the organisation and coordination of the overall health system of Montenegro; and Dr. Marina Mugoša, who followed the international protocols for the treatment of COVID, followed the patients not only in the Clinical Centre, but also in other COVID hospitals.
And my third message:
WE CONTINUE as before TOGETHER;
WE CONTINUE to improve the Montenegrin health care system;
WE CONTINUE to boost the human resources potential, to build new necessary clinics, to procure new modern equipment and to conquer the most modern methods of treatment;
WE CONTINUE to enhance the position and standard of all health workers, because they deserve it and it belongs to them.
WE CONTINUE TOGETHER to give our full selfless contribution to the progress of our entire society.
