The Public Works Administration and the most favourable bidder in the public procurement procedure, Podgorica-based company "Fidija", signed a contract on the first phase of the reconstruction of the square and promenade in Sutomore, worth almost EUR 970 thousand.

The Government of Montenegro will allocate EUR 435 thousand from the Capital Budget, EUR 425 thousand will be provided by the Public Company Morsko dobro, while the rest of EUR 100 thousand will be allocated by the Municipality of Bar.

The initial, of the planned four phases of the project includes the complete reconstruction and paving of the square with catering terraces, with an area of about 5,000 square meters, and the modernisation of part of the road near the square.

The Contractor undertook to complete the works within 250 days of commissioning, which does not include non-working days in accordance with the Law on State and Other Holidays, as well as due to possible circumstances beyond the Contractor's control.

This is a significant investment, which will open the door for further improvement and development of tourism, and at the same time increase the quality of life of residents. For years, Sutomore has been among the most popular coastal destinations for both domestic and foreign tourists, and it deserves to get new, modern contents through this project.

This investment is another proof of the Government's strategic commitment to invest in the valorisation of the country's tourist potentials, both in the north and in the coastal municipalities.
