The National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases, at tonight's session chaired by its President Milutin Simović, reaffirmed its strategic commitment to resolutely pursue a policy of opening Montenegro while maintaining an epidemiologically stable situation and taking all necessary measures to preserve the health of Montenegrin citizens, foreigners living in our country and tourists.
In accordance with the needs of our tourism economy and the strategic interest of the country, it was decided to amend the policy of opening Montenegro with new criteria proposed by the Public Health Institute, which the National Coordination Body will adopt no later than Friday, 19 June, to enable entry into Montenegro for foreigners who do not carry a high epidemiological risk.
The National Coordination Body got acquainted with the working document of the already formed Operational Staff for monitoring the epidemiological situation in the tourist season in order to fully prepare all state authorities and the tourism economy for Montenegro's entry into the new opening phase while maintaining a stable epidemiological situation. The tasks of the Operational Staff are to define the rules, procedures and monitoring of entry into Montenegro, to carry out epidemiological surveillance and to treat potentially ill guests, including their safe transport to their countries.
The Staff, headed by Sanja Medenica, epidemiologist of the Public Health Institute, consists of members: Vesna Miranović, Director General of the Ministry of Health, Damir Davidović, State Secretary of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, Bojana Bošković, General Director of the Directorate for financial system and improvement of the business environment at the Ministry of Finance; Sanja Marković, Secretary of Association of Tourism and Hospitality at the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro; Željka Radak Kukavičić, Director of the National Tourist Organisation; Sead Čirgić, Director of the Health Insurance Fund; Uroš Andrijašević, President of the Council of the Insurance Supervision Agency, Božidarka Rakočević, epidemiologist of the Public Health Institute and Višnja Orban, Head of the Sanitary Inspection of the Administration for Inspection Affairs.
The National Coordination Body expressed its gratitude to the Republic of Slovenia for today's opening of the border for the citizens of Montenegro. With this act, Slovenia – a friendly and allied country – confirmed that it recognises and acknowledges the successes that Montenegro has achieved in the fight against the COVID 19 epidemic – it was concluded at the session, stating that Slovenia's decision is the result of high-quality professional communication between the two countries.
The session analyzed illegal rallies held yesterday in several Montenegrin cities.
The National Coordination Body once again calls on all competent authorities to regularly take measures within their competence and implement laws without hesitation.
