Support for another 83 young beekeepers from all over Montenegro - DPM Simović: Encouraging trend of young people's interest in beekeeping

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović solemnly delivered earlier today, at the House of Honey in Danilovgrad, decisions on support to young beekeepers from all over Montenegro, who received support through a public call from the Agrobudget for 2020.
As a result of the Public Call for granting support to young beekeepers - beginners for 2020, 83 young beekeepers from 16 municipalities received support for the purchase of five hives with formed bee swarms, per each beekeeper.
Deputy Prime Minister Simović highlighted that support for beekeeping, through the Agrobudget, is increasing from year to year and that about 10 % more has been allocated this year compared to last year – EUR 400,000.00.
On behalf of the host, the Municipality of Danilovgrad, Municipality President Zorica Kovačević thanked the Ministry and Deputy Prime Minister Simović for their contribution to the growing number of new young beekeepers from year to year, as well as in the Municipality of Danilovgrad. Also, she praised the Government for its generous support, allocated through the relevant ministry for all sectors of agriculture, which in the area of Danilovgrad has significant effects on the growth in number of producers and entrepreneurs who have substantial production and who employ a significant number of people.
Emphasizing that, despite the pandemic and the challenges we all tackled, it is a satisfaction that agricultural production was not stopped, she also reminded of the importance of measures, implemented by the Municipality and the Government, towards mitigating the consequences of the pandemic. Municipality President Kovačević recalled the decision of the local self - government on exempting producers of this Municipality from the tax, until the end of the year. "With a special package of measures of the Government for agriculture, we continue our efforts to make the support even more generous in the coming period," said Kovačević, adding that a special programme of support in the amount of EUR 250.000 is specifically intended for young beekeepers, within the local agro-budget.
