Minister Damjanović attends the “My Tree” event

On the occasion of the World Environment Day, the Minister of Science Dr. Sanja Damjanović attended an event organised by Amplitudo company in cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro.

On this occasion, sycamore saplings have been planted in Džordža Vašingtona Boulevard in Podgorica, with a view to raise awareness of the entire community about the importance of acting on this global problem.

“I am very glad to be here today and to witness the implementation of real, high-quality ideas that prove that science and innovation are key instruments for the transformation and sustainable development of our planet,” Minister Damjanović said, expressing satisfaction that “My Tree” project was supported by the Ministry of Science, and that Amplitudo – one of the 70 innovative companies in our register of innovative organisations – received several grants for innovative projects.

The event was also attended by the Minister of Defense of Montenegro Mr. Predrag Bošković, the US Ambassador to Montenegro Ms. Judy Rising Reinke, the Mayor of Podgorica Mr. Ivan Vuković, as well as by numerous guests.

The Ministry of Science encourages the strengthening of the innovation ecosystem in Montenegro through numerous programmes and instruments. In the previous two and a half years, the Ministry has financed 40 projects worth over 3 million euros.
