On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the North Atlantic Council, Minister of Defence Predrag Bošković signed earlier today a Letter of Intent on multinational cooperation, regarding the establishment of a network of training facilities for pilots in Europe (NATO Flight Training Europe initiative - NFTE).

In addition to Montenegro, a Letter was signed by ten other NATO member states, namely Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, the North Macedonia, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Turkey.

It is proposed to establish a network of NATO pilot training centres in Europe – NFTE, with the aim of more efficient use on the existing pilot training structures of air forces of the North Atlantic Council member nations.

Linking of national and multinational pilot training centres into a single network will improve interoperability and reduce the training costs for aircraft and helicopter pilots, as well as the training costs for drone management.
