Minister Bošković at the meeting of NATO ministers of defence

Minister of Defence, Predrag Bošković, participates at the meeting of NATO ministers of defence, which is being held on the 17th and 18th June 2020 via video conference.
During the first day of the meeting, focus of the conversation was on analyzing the international security situation. Starting from the fact that NATO is committed to constantly adapting to actual global events, ministers of defence stated that it is necessary to continue with active work on developing capabilities for providing an adequate and timely response to potential challenges from all strategic directions.
They also talked about further steps in upgrading deterrence and defence of the Alliance, and concluded that keeping peace, stability and security in the whole Euro-Atlantic area will remain priority in the forthcoming period.
Minister Bošković pointed out that the Alliance represents a foundation of strong collective defence, and consequently continues to efficiently fulfill key tasks, by simultaneously adapting to changes brought by the new security context.
Referring to the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on the Alliance's functioning, minister emphasizes that once again NATO demonstrated capability to responsibly implement the activities in order to preserve international security, regardless of emerging challenges.
