Podgorica, Montenegro (24 June 2020) -- Answering the question from the representative of the Special Club of MPs Goran Radonjić within the Prime Minister's Questions, Prime Minister Duško Marković emphasised that the Government has responsibly approached, from the very beginning of its mandate, the inherited problem of former workers of the factory "Radoje Dakić," with the intention to solve it as quickly as possible.

"In that sense, despite the numerous limitations we faced in the field of fiscal consolidation, we implemented all the obligations arising from the judgments of the Constitutional Court, as soon as possible. So, with the conclusion from23 January this year, the Ministry of Finance is in charge of paying funds from the current budget reserve on the basis of six decisions of the Constitutional Court from 26 July 2019 and 11 December 2019, in the total amount of EUR 910 thousand," said the Prime Minister.

According to him, the Ministry of Finance, acting on the judgments of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro, paid bankruptcy trustees of the company "Radoje Dakić" within the prescribed period in the non-taxable amount of EUR two thousand, for violating the right to a trial within a reasonable time from Article 32 of the Constitution of Montenegro, which enabled fair satisfaction for 455 former workers of factory.

"Last week, at the session held on 18 June 2020, the Government instructed the Ministry of Finance to provide and pay funds from the current budget reserve, based on another decision of the Constitutional Court for a total of 147 former employees of Radoje Dakić, in the amount of EUR 294 thousand. This decision of the Government was implemented yesterday," said PM Marković and added:

"However it is clear that not all factory workers have been covered by the payments so far, nor has their central claim been paid. But it is also clear that we will enforce every court decision, in which the Government is obliged to act."
