National Coordination Body: Epidemic declared in several municipalities of Northern region, parents of preschool children entitled to paid absence from work
Published on: Jul 8, 2020 • 2:00 AM Author: PR Service
The National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases decided today, without holding a session and based on the obtained consent of the majority of members, to intensify temporary epidemic measures on the entire territory of Montenegro and especially in several municipalities in the Northern region.
An epidemic declared in several municipalities in the Northern region
The constant increase in the number of newly discovered cases of coronavirus infection throughout the country, with a particularly endangered Northern and Central region, and the fact that an increasing number of patients fail to reliably identify the source of infection indicates widespread local transmission of the virus in certain areas. Therefore, the National Coordination Body gave consent to the Ministry of Health to declare an epidemic of infectious disease on the territory of the following municipalities: Bijelo Polje, Berane, Petnjica, Rožaje and Gusinje.
The National Coordination Body extended the application of measures adopted on 25 June for the municipality of Rožaje until 15 July, while the application of measures adopted on 2 July for the municipality of Gusinje was extended until 17 July.
Catering facilities can work until 22:00, except in coastal municipalities
Entertainment and music programmes are prohibited on the entire territory of Montenegro in catering facilities: concerts, live performances by musicians and groups, performances by DJs and the like.
The work of catering facilities (restaurants, cafes, cafeterias, hotel restaurants and similar catering facilities), including catering facilities on beaches and bathing areas is limited until 22:00 in Podgorica, Cetinje, Plužine, Šavnik, Žabljak, Nikšić, Danilovgrad, Tuzi, Kolašin and Mojkovac.
In the Southern region, i.e. in all coastal municipalities, the restriction on the work of catering facilities until 24:00, which was adopted yesterday, remains in force.
The National Coordination Body recommends that, in addition to the mandatory wearing of protective masks indoors, every citizen wears a mask outdoors when it is not possible to maintain social distancing.
Parents of preschool children are entitled to paid absence from work
It was decided that, after yesterday's measure of closing public and private educational institutions for preschool education, one of the parents, guardians, foster parents, adoptive parents or a single parent of preschool children is entitled to paid absence from work during the validity of the measure, except for employees in: health, the Ministry of Defence, the National Security Agency, the Ministry of the Interior, the Police Directorate, the Customs Administration, the Tax Administration, the Real Estate Administration, the State Treasury Directorate in the Ministry of Finance working on the implementation of the Economy and Employee Support Programme to mitigate the negative effects of the epidemic new coronavirus, adopted by the Government of Montenegro, the Directorate for Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Affairs, institutions for accommodation of persons in the field of social and child protection, the Directorate for Execution of Criminal Sanctions, protection and rescue services and other authorities and services, whose activities are assessed as necessary by the National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases.
The work of social-medical commissions of first instance in the social welfare institutions, in the field of social and child protection, is suspended.
UK, UAE, Turkey, Ukraine and Belarus on the "green list"
The National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases has decided, at the suggestion of the Public Health Institute, to allow British residents to enter Montenegro without any additional conditions, i.e. to include the United Kingdom on the "green list" of countries which includes, among others, EU Member States.
Respecting the economic needs of Montenegro, the National Coordination Body, after discussion with the competent state epidemiological services and after reaching an agreement on the established measures to control passengers during boarding and disembarkation, decided to allow entry in Montenegro to residents of Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine and Belarus who do not show symptoms and signs of coronavirus infection and meet other requirements which will be prescribed by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism.
