Deputy Prime Minister Milutin Simović, alongside Minister of Health Kenan Hrapović and Director of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro (KCCG) Dr. Jevto Eraković and his associates, opened the renovated Centre for Medical Genetics and Immunology and the Day Hospital of the Internal Clinic of KCCG.
DPM Simović pointed out that these are new steps forward in the health system of Montenegro.
"Modern facilities, new equipment and new services, care for improving the living standards of health workers, construction of apartments, numerous specialisations… We will continue better and stronger!", said DPM Simović and congratulated the Centre staff on its jubilee - 20 years of dedicated work and contribution to the health system of Montenegro.
The Centre performs about 100,000 tests a year for about 15,000 patients, according to the most modern European standards.
"The budget for health care has been increased by over EUR 100 million since 2016, and that gives us strength for new moves" – the Deputy Prime Minister stressed.
The Director of KCCG, Dr. Jevto Eraković, pointed out that the Montenegrin health system and society have successfully responded to the COVID 19 pandemic and that constant efforts are being made to deal with the crisis.
Donations worth EUR 23,000 were used for landscaping for the Institute for Children's Diseases and restoration of the monument to Dr. Arsenije Škatarić.
"Dr. Arsenije Nikov Škatarić from Mataguži was a doctor, humanist and anti-fascist. Unfortunately, he dedicated his short life to caring for the health of children and youth.
Because of his anti-fascist activities, he was shot in 1941 at the age of 34," said Deputy Prime Minister Simović.
