Prime Minister Duško Marković said at the Prime Minister's Questions that in the middle of the last month, the work began on drafting of strategic document of the Housing Policy of Montenegro, which will define a new model of housing policy to address housing needs under favourable conditions for all categories of population and specify target groups that may exercise this right, the ways and a criteria for exercising this right, as well as mechanisms that will be based on the principles of transparency and objectivity, and that a special segment refers to the target group of young but also professional people, people with deficient occupations, in order to reduce emigration, internal migration, and preserving the deficient personnel in Montenegro.
Answering the question from the MP's Club of Social Democrats and the Liberal Party, about what the Government is doing to help young people to get a roof over their heads or to solve the housing issue, the Prime Minister emphasised that the activities on designing the Draft Law Amending the Law on Social Housing started in parallel with drafting this strategic document, which will regulate housing policy, i.e. adapt to the subject initiative. More precisely, a public call for proposing representatives of non-governmental organizations in the working body was conducted, a working group was formed and the work on text of the Draft Law began.
The Prime Minister reminded that the issue of solving the housing needs of young people has been the focus of housing policy so far, so 349 young married couples and 183 individuals from the category of one-member households under the age of 35, have solved the housing issue within the 1000 Plus Project. So, we are practically talking about 532 housing units.
