We have improved the business environment, we are building a motorway, we have started the construction of a ski resort worth EUR 120 million and so far we have invested over EUR 55 million. So far, over 30 out of the total of EUR 50 million that have already been contracted have been invested in Kolašin, for the construction of cable cars and supporting infrastructure. With generous non-refundable support, we have provided dynamic development of agriculture, invested in rural road and water infrastructure, improved the wood processing sector," said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Milutin Simović during his working visit to the Municipality of Kolašin.

During the visit, DPM Simović and President of the Municipality of Kolašin Milosav Bato Bulatović met with wood processors from Kolašin.

"The State has invested and created conditions, and now others are also investing. We have launched a new investment momentum that will bring new jobs, new opportunities for the placement of agricultural products and a new quality of life in Kolašin and in the entire north of Montenegro.

Only through the "economic citizenship" programme, which is aimed primarily at the accelerated development of less developed municipalities, seven projects have been contracted so far, four of which in Kolašin. It is about the construction of four high category hotels worth EUR 55 million, with a capacity of 525 rooms, the construction of which will create 340 new jobs," said DPM Simović.

In a direct conversation with wood processors, they talked about the market challenges they face in both domestic and export markets and about the ways for overcoming them.

The results of the forestry and wood processing sector are summarised, which are encouraging:
