PM Marković in Kolašin: This is Tivat of the North

During his working visit to Kolašin today, Prime Minister Duško Marković assessed that, thanks to investments in development projects, this city has positioned itself in the Northern region of Montenegro as Tivat has positioned itself in the Coastal region.
"The significance that the transformation and rise of Tivat on the tourist map of the Mediterranean has for the Montenegrin coast - the accelerated development of the Kolašin region has and will have for the north of Montenegro" – the Prime Minister repeated several times today: during talks with municipal management, with citizens gathered at central Square, entrepreneurs and at the end of the working visit summarising his impressions.
Prime Minister Duško Marković, at the meeting with municipal management, led by President of the Municipality of Kolašin Milosav Bato Bulatović, expressed satisfaction with the development of the city, assessing that Kolašin has made good use of its potential. "When the entire world economy is on its knees, Kolašin is being built," said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister visited the construction site of the Breza tourist complex, which is due to be completed in 2022, and the Kolašin 1450 and 1600 ski resorts, where ski capacities are being greatly expanded by building new terrains.
"Today I had the pleasure to make sure that the works on the new ski centres are progressing well. The state invests close to EUR 50 million from the capital budget in the projects Kolašin 1600 and Kolašin 1450, and two thirds of these investments have already been realised. Now everyone can be convinced that the promise we made – that Kolašin will become a winter tourist centre at the level of the most famous European centres – is being realised! The Government has invested in the necessary infrastructure, and will continue to do so in the next term; new hotel capacities are being realised, and soon Kolašin will be connected by motorway with the south and north. This will definitely change the face and life of this area, and that is why I can state with great pleasure that the Government's vision of the development of the north of Montenegro is becoming a reality. I talked about that in detail today with tourism entrepreneurs, in order to jointly define priorities in the coming period. We believe that the priority is that investors make new capacities usable as soon as possible. In that way, a large number of new, well-paid jobs are created and chances for a decent existence are created, primarily for young and educated people from the north of Montenegro" – said Prime Minister Duško Marković at the end of his working visit.
The Prime Minister reminded that the Government announced four years ago the maximum commitment to the accelerated development of the Northern region. "Only those who do not want to see it – do not see it in Kolašin today," said PM Marković.
Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulić and Director of the Public Works Administration Rešad Nuhodžić also paid a visit to Kolašin.
