PM Marković at opening of UNIPROM aluminium billets factory: every new product is new job and new opportunity for employees to improve their quality of life

Prime Minister Duško Marković said today at the opening of a new aluminium billets/logs factory within the company UNIPROM KAP that the European path is a process of thoughtful strategic transformation of all segments of our society, including our industry.

"It is a struggle to improve existing and conquer new production processes, like the one we are witnessing today. Because every new product is a new job and a new opportunity for every employee to raise the quality of life to the desired level," said PM Marković at the ceremony at which President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović and UNIPROM KAP owner Veselin Pejović opened a new factory.

The Prime Minister said that today we are witnessing that in 16 months the new Factory has opened its gates for about 80 new workers, that the investment worth about EUR 15 million was realised in a very short time and that it will start annual production of as many as 70 thousand tons of aluminum billets, worth about 175 million dollars in the foreign market.

"We know that a new silumin factory was recently opened within the Aluminium Plant, which already produces special alloys with an annual value of around 75 million dollars – I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to the owner of UNIPROM, Mr Veselin Pejović, for brave business moves; for investments of over EUR 25 million in production capacities; and above all for new jobs in the Aluminium Plant" – said the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Duško Marković said at the ceremony that here, near Podgorica, Montenegrin society creates a product traded around the world every day.

"A product of standardised quality, which is listed on stock exchanges from London to Chicago and whose value dictates the moves of the largest global corporations. Today, when we are witnessing six years of healthy work of that production, it is easier than ever to say that the aluminium industry still has a lot to offer to Montenegro" – said the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Duško Marković reminded that at last year's opening of the aluminium alloy factory he said that it was not rational to cultivate ambitions to close the modern road, from natural resources to the final product, within the national framework, but that it is both rational and patriotic to fight to cross as much of that road as possible on our own.

"The new EUR 25 million, materialised in two new factories, raise the final product of the Montenegrin aluminium industry one step higher. Just as we witnessed the first step last year - a fundamental change of approach, today we confirm the right path. The path to the production of final products, which, when we reach it, will be the final proof of the transformation of our industry into a modern developed industry. Five decades of tradition and lessons learned from numerous temptations, even some situations that seemed hopeless, but above all the determination, dedication and inventiveness of the current owner and management team, oblige all of us to continue to treat the potential of aluminium production with special sensibility" – said Prime Minister Duško Marković at the opening of the UNIPROM KAP aluminium billets factory.
