"We are working hard in Bar - as a team, steadfastly and systematically. Numerous realised projects testify to that," said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Milutin Simović at the meeting with President of the Municipality of Bar Dušan Raičević within the working visit to Bar.

"The Government's firm determination is development as the best response to the crisis, and that is why we have maintained all development projects, and through the Third package of Government measures, numerous new projects are planned.

The special significance in this Government package worth EUR 1.2 billion was recognised in the Port of Bar, which represents our important comparative advantage and therefore its further development is necessary and represents a significant prerequisite for the implementation of numerous development projects. Development will bring the necessary high-quality and better paid new jobs.

The planned new development projects will provide many new opportunities for entrepreneurial strides in many industries.

I am sure that hard-working and determined entrepreneurs from Bar and the whole of Montenegro will recognise them and use them for their own development and the development of the entire country," said DPM Simović.

Deputy Prime Minister Simović and President of the Municipality Raičević visited the works on the House of Olives and expressed satisfaction with the realisation of this important facility.

"Less than 10 months ago, we started the construction of the House of Olives in Bar, a facility that has multiple significance.

Productive, educational and tourist significance.

This modernly designed facility aims to combine the rich tradition and history of olive growing in this area, as evidenced by the trees over 2000 years old, with the challenges of the times in which we live, as well as to support olive growers for future challenges.

That is why the House of Olives is a kind of recognition to generations of olive growers for their work and effort with which they have maintained olive growing through the centuries, but also a responsibility towards current and future generations to nurture and improve the tradition of olive growing," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

"The House of Olives is a facility that will serve all olive growers in Bar, but it will also be the centre of olive growing throughout Montenegro. We can already see today that the project, which has been announced for many years, has gained recognisable outlines. I take this opportunity to thank the Government of Montenegro and the relevant ministry for their support to the Municipality of Bar, olive growers, as well as all local residents, for the facility that will be a centre of olive growing and education, a centre where olive growers will gather, socialise, exchange experiences and place where local residents will welcome guests from other parts of Europe and the world. I would also like to express gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for continuous support to agriculture, especially olive growing in Bar. The crown of that great cooperation is the House of Olives project, which will be built in mid-November," said Municipality President Dušan Raičević.

During the visit to Bar, the Deputy Prime Minister met with the representatives of the "Association of Olive Growers Bar" in Mrkojevići and the Association of Olive Growers "Antivari" in Stari Bar.
