Government to provide new support for farmers and retirees

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund and the Investment and Development Fund (IDF) will propose the Government to support the organized purchase of lambs this year as well, continuing to take care for the needs of pensioners, who expressed interest in being supplied with a quality product under favorable conditions, this year too. 

The purchase of lambs this year is of special importance and significance for agricultural producers. In conditions when the placement of agricultural products is difficult, support in the realization of market surpluses is another in a series of Government support to producers, in order to mitigate the consequences of the COVID 19 pandemic.

A meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović and representatives of the involved institutions, organizations and business people, who expressed interest in participating in this action, was held earlier today in the premises of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund.
