Podgorica, 27 August 2020 - The National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases, the Ministry of Health, the Public Health Institute and the Administration for Inspection Affairs, in cooperation with the Embassy of the United States, are preparing new digital tools to accelerate and strengthen the fight against coronavirus epidemic. The project entitled "Montenegro COVID-19 Online Platform," as a donor project is funded by the Embassy of the United States of America in Podgorica, and implemented by Company "Amplitudo". The US Embassy hereby provides additional assistance to the Government of Montenegro, to cope in the best way, with the challenges posed by epidemic.
The digital eDonation platform and the Qarta application are created, with the aim of providing systematic monitoring and improvement of the epidemiological situation in Montenegro, i.e. to:
• support epidemiologist to suppress the Sars-Cov-2 as efficiently as possible;
• provide competent institutions with an access to the overall, precise and regularly updated database on all relevant information;
• facilitate the targeted and purposeful collection and allocation of all necessary resources, funded through donations, for fight against coronavirus;
• enable faster communication of response teams, but also more efficient networking of both, institutions and citizens.
The Donation Platform - eDonations will represent a unique digital community of donors in Montenegro. It will connect institutions in need of assistance and organizations that have the possibility and want to donate the necessary goods or money. Thus, the necessary resources will be allocated quickly and directly, and funds will be collected in accordance with real needs. The platform will be available to all citizens, organizations and institutions.
The QARTA (Quarantine Reporting Task Assistant) application will be used for more efficient exchange of data related to the disease of the novel coronavirus, as well as for monitoring compliance with quarantine measures and self-isolation. Thanks to this tool, the competent institutions will have a more efficient exchange of real-time data on persons in self-isolation, who came through some of the border crossings or came out of quarantine; on those placed in institutional quarantines, on persons under medical supervision, and on those who have made contact with some of the sick.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Montenegro and President of the National Coordination Body, Milutin Simović, identified these technological tools as useful, not only as additional aid for stopping the current wave of pandemics, but also as an usable platform for other public health events in the future that may require rapid and effective exchange of information and data.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Embassy of the United States of America for supporting the Government of Montenegro in responding to the COVID - 19 epidemic.
