Preschool institutions will start working on 1 October

Preschool institutions will start working on 1 October, while complying with all strictly prescribed measures, which were sent by the Public Health Institute. The institutions will be in charge of detailed maintenance and disinfection of the premises and their ventilation, children will spend more time outdoors, and parents and staff will be informed about the procedures for bringing and picking up children, etc.

Staff will be required to wear masks, while children will not be required to wear masks. However, the decision of parents who insist that their children wear masks during their stay in the institution will be respected, and in these cases the staff is obliged to supervise the proper wearing of the mask. All persons wearing masks should have several masks in reserve, depending on the length of stay in the institution. Cloth face masks are also allowed, and tailor-made cloth face masks for children are recommended to parents who insist that the child wears a mask.

A parent or other person who brings a child to a preschool institution wears a mask and, together with the child, maintains a physical distance of 2 meters from other persons. Persons who bring/pick up children do not enter the facility, but the children are picked up/brought by the teacher. The Ministry, in cooperation with the Property Administration, has started the procedure of procurement of contactless thermometers, which will, whenever it is feasible, measure the body temperature of children at the entrance to the facility.

Neither children nor staff come to the institution if they have acute health problems - symptoms of respiratory or intestinal infection, fever, loss of sense of smell/taste, etc. Also, persons who have been issued a decision on quarantine or house isolation do not come to the institutions.
