Nikšić, Montenegro (16 September 2020) -- Director of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro Dr. Jevto Eraković and representatives of the Crises Medical Staff Dr. Nermin Abdić and Dr. Hasib Lukač visited medical institutions in Nikšić late last night and emphasised that the problems caused by sudden large influx of SARS-Cov-2 patients were solved, that health system of Montenegro is operating at its full capacity, but that the citizens have to comply with epidemiological measures and thus reduce the spread of the virus.

We have convinced of the great organisation of the Hospital in Nikšić, of competence of the doctors and mid - level medical staff and we saw that all the patients who today required hospitalisation were hospitalised. Tonight, the health system of Montenegro once again showed that it can function in a right way and that any possible influx of patients to the hospital in Nikšić will be relieved by placing patients in other health institutions.

The Director of the General Hospital in Nikšić, Dr. Ilija Ašanin said that yesterday showed that we all have to pay attention to the compliance with epidemiological measures.

"The Hospital responded to the situation in which it found itself, everyone was hospitalised and everybody feels good. I urge the compliance with measures," said Dr. Ašanin. He particularly warned that most of the yesterday's patients were exceptionally young.

The Head of the Infectious Diseases department of the Nikšić General Hospital, Dr. Duška Milatović announced that yesterday in Nikšić was very turbulent day, that many people came for check-ups, but that at the end they were all worried.

"My suggestion to citizens is to pay attention to the measures of the National Coordination Body, to their attitude in sense of being less likely to be infected with the coronavirus. All together we must work to reduce the number and cure people," said Dr. Milatović.

The team of doctors also visited Special Hospital for Lung Diseases Brezovik, where a part of the patients was placed yesterday and in which there are still free space for possible new COVID-19 patients.

Dr. Jevto Eraković emphasised that the Clinical Centre of Montenegro decided to immediately hand over one mobile digital X-ray machine to the Nikšić General Hospital, so that all patients who need lung imaging could be treated on time.
