PM Marković meets with French Ambassador Toudic: Montenegro has done great job in short period of time

Podgorica, Montenegro (22 September 2020) – In a short period of time, Montenegro has done a lot – became a full - flagged member of NATO, opened all negotiation chapters in negotiations with the EU and it is closest to the EU membership, said Prime Minister Duško Marković who hosted a farewell visit by Ambassador of France Christine Toudic

"On that path of state emancipation and transformation of society, we have had support of France. I want to thank you for the overall French support, which was particularly significant in areas of defence, rule of law and education," said Prime Minister Marković.
 
Praising bilateral relations between the countries, Prime Minister Marković emphasised that there is room for their further strengthening, especially in the area of economy. Although the economic situation everywhere in the world is challenging, due to the coronavirus pandemic, governments should be committed to its recovery and strengthening with the aim of providing a better and more quality lives of citizens. 

Both sides agreed that the future of Montenegro is in the European Union and voiced hope that the incoming Government will be committed to the achievement of this foreign policy goal.
