Crisis Medical Staff: Physical examination of patients with COVID19 symptoms in primary health care centres

Published on: Sep 24, 2020 11:18 PM Author: PR Service
All primary health care centres in Montenegro are staffed and technically equipped, and at full capacity they perform physical examination of patients with symptoms of coronavirus infection in COVID dispensaries, which is confirmed by the fact that more than two and a half thousand patients were examined in primary health care centres across the country yesterday. The Crisis Medical Staff therefore urges the citizens, in order to relieve the general hospitals and the Clinical Centre of Montenegro (KCCG), in all cases of suspected coronavirus infection, to visit primary health care centres for physical examination. COVID teams in primary health care centres make a decision after each physical examination on whether the patient is referred to a hospital or for home treatment.

Head of the Crisis Medical Staff Nermin Abdić and Director of the Primary Health Care Centre Podgorica Nebojša Kavarić met today with directors of primary health care centres from all over Montenegro and noted the high level of primary health care and agreed on even closer cooperation between primary health care centres and hospitals and KCCG in order to avoid overlapping examinations.

The high-quality and dedicated work of pediatricians was especially emphasised, which resulted, among other things, in a low level of infection among children.

In order to relieve the burden on primary health care centres, consultative specialist examinations performed in primary health care institutions were suspended until further notice.
