Regarding the statement of Prime Minister-designate Zdravko Krivokapić to TV Vijesti that he conducted intensive talks regarding the new health infrastructure, namely the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, we highlight that the European Union's financial support for the construction of the Clinic of Infectious Diseases is planned through the IPA 2018 Annual Action Programme, started in early 2018. The first version of the programme for the construction of these two infrastructure facilities planned the support of EUR 4.5 million, while the rest of the funds of about EUR four million would be provided within the national co-financing. In this regard, a financial agreement for this programme was signed on 2 December 2019.

With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, the European Commission decided to increase support to the health system of Montenegro, so it was agreed to increase the European Union's financial support to the Infectious Diseases Clinic project in a way that it will be fully funded with EUR 8.5 million by the EU. The updated description of the project received the necessary support from the EU member states through its adoption by the Committee of the European Commission for IPA in early October 2020.

The project envisaged a revision of the main project, preparation of tenders, construction, procurement of equipment, supervision of works and formal opening of two clinics. The overall process of implementing the tender procedure for the construction of the clinic building will be managed through an indirect management system of IPA funds by the Public Works Administration.

Therefore, this Government made every effort to build and construct the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, and provided twice as much financial support as planned. In other words - do not adorn yourself with borrowed plumes, you will have the opportunity to show your knowledge and capability during the further realisation of this capitally significant health project.
