Montenegro will continue to be reliable and credible ally to the NATO and United States

Minister of Defence Olivera Injac had a virtual meeting today with Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Euroasian Affairs, Matthew Palmer.
Minister Injac reiterated the commitment to the further development of cooperation of Montenegro and the United States, highlighting the substantial bilateral projects in defence sector, with a special focus on modernization processes of the Armed Forces of Montenegro. Injac expressed her gratitude for the constant and comprehensive U.S. support, with an emphasis on the enhancement of Montenegrin defence sector. Injac affirmed the fact that Montenegro will continue to responsibly fulfil crucial commitments that correspond to NATO membership, while maintaining the foundation of democratic processes and promoting the significance of Euro-Atlantic integrations for the Western Balkans. Asserting the competent contribution of the Armed Forces of Montenegro to the collective defence system, Minister Injac emphasized that Montenegro will continue to advocate for the stability of the Region, as well as to actively contribute to international peace.
Deputy Assistant Secretary Matthew Palmer highlighted that the United States and Montenegro have considerably improved their bilateral defence cooperation, especially within the partnership under the Alliance. Palmer praised the international liability of the Montenegrin Armed Forces, while emphasizing its contributions to NATO led missions. Additionally, Palmer affirmed that the United States will continue to support the advancement of the Montenegrin defence sector, with the aim of sustaining and raising the interoperability levels.
