Minister of Finance, Igor Lukšić, talked to the vise president of the European Commission and the commissioner for enterprise and industry, Günter Verheugen

I informed the commissioner Verheugen about all the measures of the monetary and fiscal policy of the Government for the purpose of preventive responding to the effects of the strong global economic crisis, and, in that sense, what we find not to be jeopardizing for the market structure of Montenegrin economy and what is to ensure competitiveness of our economy in the long run. We should remind that the measures will be related to the reduction of taxes and contributions on salaries, early repayment of internal debt, reduction of the prices of fuel and giving incentives to small and medium size enterprises through lower prices of electricity and realization of numerous infrastructure projects. Such approach is realistic and in the best spirit of creating conditions for further absorption of what represents the European legislation in the following steps of joining EU...
