The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mr. Igor Lukšić, met with Mrs. Jane Armitage, Country Director and Regional Coordinator for South East Europe in the World Bank. The Deputy Prime Minister Lukšić informed Mrs. Armitage on recent macroeconomic indicators and economic trends in Montenegro, as well as on prepared amendments to the Budget Law and continuation of cost - saving measures with the objective of stabilizing public finance. The meeting was used as an opportunity to discuss the current restructuring issues related to the Aluminum Plant (KAP) recapitalization of EPCG, as well as other strategic activities focused on stimulating the economy and fostering economic recovery. Mrs. Armitage emphasized that the global situation is very hard and that Montenegro couldnt be isolated, emphasizing the importance of liquidity and stability of the financial system for the continuation of economic activities. Moreover, it was discussed the possible IMF arrangement, as well as the possibility to use credit funds of the World Bank, as a support to the Government of Montenegro in implementing structural reforms
