Delegation of the Ministry of Finance visited institutions of the Republic of Macedonia

Within the two – days working visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Fiance, led by the Deputy Finance Minister, Mr. Milorad Katnić, PhD., the delegation held a number of meetings with the representatives of institutions of the Republic of Macedonia, involved in the process of improving the business environment. At meetings with the representatives of the Ministry of Economy and the Cabinet of the deputy Prime Minister of the Government for Economic Policy, Montenegrin delegation had the opportunity to become familiar with the reforms which in the period from 2007 – 2010, were implemented by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia in relation to the doing business and increase in competitiveness. Having in mind the successful example of Macedonia in implementation of reforms directed to the better positioning in international reports, the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro was an opportunity to establish better cooperation and exchange in experience. The significant progress of Macedonia was recognized by the Doing Business Report, being the best ranked country in the region and one of the Top 10 reformers in 2010. Implemented reforms aimed at eliminating the business barriers, as well as the increase in competitiveness of Macedonian economy, will be used as a good example and contribute to becoming familiar with the forthcoming challenges in the process of reforming the ease of doing business in Montenegro. The experience of Macedonia is of special importance having in mind the reforms related to the simplification of procedure for starting the business in Montenegro, consolidated registration in the Tax Administration, as well as the steps undertaken with the objective of establishing single counter and on-line registration of companies.
