London: the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Mr. Igor Lukšić, PhD., took part in the First British - Montenegrin Investment Forum

The delegation of the Government of Montenegro, led by the Prime Minister Milo Đukanović, was presented at the First British – Montenegrin Investment Forum in London, organized by the Developing Markets Associates (DMA) and the Embassy of Montenegro in London, supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minster Lukšić, addressed the macroeconomic situation and the economic environment in Montenegro, basic economic and fiscal policy measures implemented at the time of the crisis, as well as the foreign policy priorities of Montenegro and future challenges of Montenegrin economy. The Deputy Prime Minister has emphasized that despite the economic and financial crises impact, Montenegro has succeeded in maintaining a healthy and consistent fiscal policy, retaining fiscal parameters bellow the Maastricht criteria. When addressing the challenges of Montenegrin economy, he emphasized that the biggest challenges in the forthcoming period will be to complete the privatization process, structural reforms in pension, heath and education system, social policy, restructuring of inefficient companies in controlling stake of the state, further improvement of the business environment, labor market deregulation, infrastructure – related investments – highways, waste management and the water supply system reconstruction...
