Zagreb: Deputy Prime Minister Lukšić took part in the EBRD’s XIX Annual Meeting

The Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Mr. Igor Lukšić, PhD., took part at the 19th Annual Meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) held in Zagreb, in the period 14 – 15 May. On that occasion he met with the Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Mr. Dario Scannapieco, the Director of the Business Group of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Mr. Peter Reininger and the Vice-President of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Mr. Yoshihito Morita. In discussion with the Vice -President of the EIB, both officials expressed satisfaction with the quality of the current cooperation between Montenegro and the EIB in the field of implementation of water – supply projects, railway and road infrastructure and energy sector. During the meeting with the Director of the Business Group of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Mr. Peter Raininger, it was estimated that the cooperation between Montenegro and the EBRD in the area of infrastructure – related projects implementation was extremely successful and the EBRD announced the readiness to continue to provide support in this area. In this context, was discussed the possibility of financing the priority projects of construction of the highway Bar-Boljari, restructuring of the Port of Bar and other projects whose implementation will contribute to further development of Montenegro. During the meeting with the Vice – President of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, were discussed possibilities of strengthening and improving cooperation between Montenegro and the Bank in various areas. In this regard, Mr. Morita has announced the visit to Montenegro in the coming months, and particularly expressed interest and willingness to provide support to Japanese investors in the implementation of the project for the construction of windmills
