Montenegro moves 13 places up global competitiveness list, retains leading position in region
According to the Global Competitiveness Report 2010 – 2011 released by the World Economic Forum, Montenegro has improved its ranking by 13 places to reach the 49th position this year.
The report, which includes 139 countries, puts Montenegro at the top position in the region.
Montenegro is better ranked that Croatia in 76th position, Macedonia in 78th, Serbia in 92nd, Albania in 86th and Bosnia and Herzegovina in 98th, most of which have improved their rankings as well.
With the competitiveness score of 4.4, Montenegro is also better ranked than some EU countries, including Romania, Latvia, Greece and Bulgaria.
Montenegro won the best scores for the health and primary education, and macroeconomic environment, 6.2 and 5.1 respectively.
