French Ambassador to Montenegro Dominique Gazuy said Friday that she expected the European Commission to deliver a positive opinion on Montenegro’s EU membership application on account of its foreign policy accomplishments, in particular, the EU visa liberalization, accession to NATO’s Membership Action Plan and answers to the European Commission’s Questionnaire.
At a meeting with Montenegrin Minister of the Interior and Public Administration Ivan Brajovic, Mrs Gazuy underlined that the recently adopted Strategy for the Fight against Organized Crime and Corruption, the Strategy on Terrorism, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing and the forthcoming agreements with Croatia and Serbia on mutual extradition of criminals would give added impetus to that decision.
Minister Brajovic noted that Montenegro deserved a positive opinion for its general level of commitment to reform, particularly since the restoration of statehood in 2006.
