Abazović attends dinner organised by European Jewish Association
It's easy to be on the right side, even though fear can sometimes be comfortable. The right side is the protection of human rights and universal values, the fight for peace and the promotion of everything that brings justice to the people, said Prime Minister Dritan Abazović during a speech at a dinner organised by the European Jewish Association in Kraków.
We cannot change the past, only the future. It is the honor of every leader to serve their country, and it is my honor as well. But that is not enough. It is an honor to lend a hand to others. I am proud that Jews are more than welcome in my country. I am proud of the fact that anti-Semitism does not live in Montenegro and that it did not contribute to the killings in the World War II. At that time, we provided protection to the Jews. Montenegro can be a positive example, even for some much more developed countries, Abazović emphasised.
Prime Minister Abazović stated that one of his first decisions as Prime Minister was to allow the registration of the Jewish community.
The way we contribute to our country and citizens is the way we see the future. It is the duty of every leader to visit Auschwitz, and I am here for the first time. It is the duty of every decision-maker to make it possible for future generations to understand what happened here so that this never happens again. War and violence are never the solution. Peace and justice are the solution. We have many differences, but we have even more things that bind us together. Let's promote such things. At the end of the day, we are only human beings, and from every position we should contribute to such values, said the Prime Minister.
