Abazović, Gjelstad: Montenegro is recognised on the map of health tourism
Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met today with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Montenegro, H.E. Jørn Eugene Gjelstad.
Informing Ambassador Gjelstad about the current political and epidemiological situation in the country, DPM Abazović said that the first democratic change of government in the history of Montenegro took place in August last year, emphasising that by signing the agreement, the ruling majority guaranteed commitment to Montenegro's European integration and fulfillment of all obligations that we have as a full member of NATO. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised the efficiency of the Montenegrin health system in the previous period, stressing the results that health workers have achieved recently in the immunization of citizens, which has contributed to the significant improvement of the epidemiological situation in the country.
DPM Abazović highlighted the importance of cooperation between Montenegro and Norway through the defence and security system and pointed out that our country wants to further improve relations with allies.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised the importance of Norwegian tourists for Montenegro and the importance of the Simo Milošević Institute in Herceg Novi in that sense, noting that Montenegro is recognised on the map of health tourism and that this potential should be used more. In that context, DPM Abazović invited tourists from the Kingdom of Norway to spend their summer holidays in Montenegro, announcing direct flights from Oslo to Tivat.
The meeting was an opportunity for DPM Abazović and Ambassador Gjelstad to discuss the importance of reforms in the field of rule of law as a key issue in the continuation of European integration, but also the results achieved in the fight against organized crime and high-level corruption.
