Abazović: I look forward to the arrival of German companies
Montenegro is a country suitable for the electricity generation from renewable sources. We are determined to enable the transition towards a green economy and clean energy through projects aimed at energy transition. I look forward to the arrival of German companies. You are always welcome to invest in Montenegro, said Prime Minister Dritan Abazović at the meeting with Matthias Brückmann, CEO of the German company Wircon, which generates electricity from renewable sources (solar energy).
Mr. Brückmann was accompanied by Johann Wagner, President of the Salon Diplomatique from Mannheim, and Ranko Vujačić, former Ambassador of Montenegro to Germany.
The CEO of Wircon expressed interest in investing in renewable energy sources and solar energy production in Montenegro, and informed the Prime Minister about his company's previous projects, adding that German companies are interested in investing in Montenegro.
Prime Minister Abazović informed his interlocutors about Montenegro's commitment to the European Union's Green Agenda, with which the strategic goals of Montenegro's infrastructural development are fully compatible. In addition, Prime Minister Abazović mentioned the numerous natural benefits of our country for investments in energy, which are based on renewable energy sources, as well as projects "Solari 3000+" and "Solari 500+", launched by Montenegrin Electric Enterprise (EPCG) in August last year.
One of the priorities of Montenegrin energy policy is sustainable energy development, i.e. ensuring the development of the energy sector based on accelerated but rational use of own energy resources in accordance with the principles of environmental protection, energy efficiency and increased use of renewable energy sources, said Prime Minister Abazović.
The Prime Minister stressed that Montenegro expects an increased presence of investors from Western Europe, emphasising that investing in the stability and prosperity of the Western Balkans means investing in prosperity of the whole of Europe.
