Abazović meets evaluators from MONEYVAL
Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met the representatives of the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism, MONEYVAL.
Member of Moneyval Bureau Ladislav Majernik, Moneyval Evaluation Working Group Co-Chair Nicola Miccioli, Moneyval Evaluation Working Group Chair Ani Melkonyan, and Acting Assistant Director of the Police Directorate Aleksandar Radović attended the meeting.
The results of the evaluation of the Montenegrin system of prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing by this Committee are of great importance for Montenegro and its participation in this body of the Council of Europe, the EGMONT Group, but also for the process of accession to the European Union, Prime Minister Abazović emphasised.
The evaluation report will cover the period from 2016 to 2023 and will provide an overview of the earlier situation, but also provide recommendations for the next evaluation period.
Prime Minister Abazović emphasised his satisfaction with today's meeting and expressed the readiness to continue the necessary reforms in order to better meet the standards in this area.
