Abazović meets President of Poland
Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met with President of Poland Andrzej Duda. The meeting noted that Montenegro and Poland are strengthening cooperation in all areas, and that alliance within NATO remains the main mechanism for protecting our common European and Euro-Atlantic values.
Talking about the situation in Eastern Europe and Russia's aggression against Ukraine, Prime Minister Abazović praised the President of Poland for hosting about three million refugees from Ukraine, stating that Montenegro has hosted a large number of Ukrainian citizens, amounting to 1% of the total population of Montenegro.
The Prime Minister pointed out that Montenegro appreciates Poland's role as one of the most prominent European actors, which provides great support for resolving the Ukrainian crisis, but also the commitment and proactive role that Poland has during its OSCE Chairmanship.
Speaking about Montenegro's EU integration process, President Duda stated that Poland always emphasises the importance and insists on the "open door" policy of the European Union.
Prime Minister Abazović stressed that Montenegro remains committed to the key principles of foreign policy - the alliance within NATO, European integration and regional cooperation as our strategic commitments for which we have the support of the Republic of Poland.
Speaking about European perspective, Prime Minister Abazović and President Duda agreed that Montenegro and Poland cherish friendly and cooperative relations, and that the two countries will build stronger ties in the future.
Prime Minister Dritan Abazović is paying a three-day visit to Switzerland, where he is participating in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting.
