Abazović meets US Senators
Montenegro is a reliable NATO member and as such certainly the first next member of the European Union, it was concluded at the meeting of Prime Minister Dritan Abazović with US Senators Chris Murphy and Gary Peters.
Prime Minister Abazović informed US Senators about current developments in Montenegro and referred to economic accomplishments, with special emphasis on the activities of the Government of Montenegro in the field of combating organised crime and corruption.
Behind every nationalism in the Western Balkans is corruption. That is why we have shown determination and will to confront corruption at all levels. There are no privileged people in this fight, the Prime Minister said.
Senators Murphy and Peters expressed satisfaction with the visit to the region, and emphasised the importance of Montenegro's commitment to the values of the Alliance. They welcomed the activities of the Government in the field of modernisation of the Armed Forces of Montenegro and expressed their commitment to contribute to strengthening bilateral relations, especially in the field of defence and cyber security.
Furthermore, the meeting assessed that the relations between Montenegro and the United States of America are at a high level, which is significantly contributed by NATO membership and numerous joint activities in the field of preserving the stability and prosperity of the Western Balkans.

US Ambassador to Montenegro Judy Rising Reinke, Coordinator of the Ministry of Defence and Minister of the Interior Filip Adžić, and State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Krsto Perović also attended the meeting.
