Abazović meets with Association of people from Ulcinj in Durres

During his official visit to the Republic of Albania, Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met with representatives of the Association of people from Ulcinj in Durres.

DPM Abazović informed his interlocutors about the current political processes in Montenegro, adding that Montenegro, after the first democratic change of government in its history and full membership in NATO, wants to see its future in the European Union. Speaking about the relations between Montenegro and Albania, which he stated were good and friendly, DPM Abazović emphasised the importance of good regional connections, cooperation and the promotion of peace and tolerance for the development of the Western Balkans.

Deputy Prime Minister Abazović informed the representatives of the Association about the infrastructure projects he discussed with the officials of the Republic of Albania, which should connect Albania and Montenegro as two recognised tourist destinations on the Adriatic Sea.

Abazović pointed out that this Government, unlike the previous, especially cares about Ulcinj, as a city with exceptional natural and economic potential. In that sense, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasised that the Parliament of Montenegro adopted the proposal that the property in Valdanos should be returned to the old owners and that the consequences of soil erosion on Ada Bojana were repaired in a short period of time. Abazović highlighted that he is especially happy that Ulcinj and Velika plaža are popular tourist destinations in the Balkans this season, stating that the season exceeds all possible expectations.

Representatives of the Association expressed gratitude for the meeting with DPM Abazović, welcoming the readiness of the Government to pay special attention to Ulcinj and its natural and economic potentials.
