Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović hosted today President of the Democratic Alliance of Albanians Nikola Camaj and President of the Municipal Assembly of Gusinje Bujar Hasangjekaj.

Referring to the importance of minorities in Montenegro, DPM Abazović expressed the desire for stronger cooperation between the Government of Montenegro and minorities. The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out the need for greater participation of minorities in public administration.

The meeting discussed the situation in the municipalities of Tuzi and Gusinje and the possibilities of their further development.

The interlocutors agreed that the completion of the reconstruction of the Dinoša-Zatrijebač road and the opening of a new border crossing with Albania will greatly improve the connection between Podgorica, Tuzi and Gusinje, as well as reduce the distance between these municipalities to only 70km. Abazović, Camaj and Hasangjekaj agreed that the completion of that road section will bring much better connections between the Capital City Podgorica and the Plav-Gusinje region, as well as significant opportunities for tourism development in those municipalities in the north of  Montenegro.

Furthermore, they agreed that all public officials should make the maximum contribution in order to reduce tensions in society and promote a multiethnic, multi-confessional and civil state, which should be the guarantor of peace and stability in the Western Balkans.
