During his visit to New York, Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met with the Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean, Mr. Nasser Kamel. During this meeting, Prime Minister Abazović reiterated Montenegro's continuous commitment to regional cooperation.

Stable regional cooperation and good neighborly relations are among the key priorities of Montenegro's foreign policy. We are ready to participate in all initiatives aimed at the ultimate goal of integrating the countries of the region into the European Union, stated Abazović.

He also expressed Montenegro's deep appreciation for the support it has received for the candidacy of Budva-Boka for the title of European Capital of Culture 2028.

Montenegro welcomes all opportunities for future cooperation and initiatives in the upcoming period, with a focus on joint actions, particularly in connection with the nomination of the Mediterranean Capital of Culture 2025 initiative, emphasized Abazović.

He reminded that Montenegro currently presides over two regional initiatives, namely CEFTA (Central European Free Trade Agreement) and DPPI (Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Initiative for Southeast Europe). Additionally, Montenegro recently successfully concluded its one-year chairmanship of the SEECP (South East European Cooperation Process).
