Abazović, Moran: Ecological state is Montenegro's biggest comparative advantage

Montenegro's biggest comparative advantage is that it is the only ecological state in the world declared by the Constitution, which opens a special door for it on a global level. We need more green projects that will change the awareness of the citizens, said Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović at a meeting with COP26 Regional Ambassador for Europe, Central Asia, Turkey David Moran.

DPM Abazović pointed out that Montenegro would be pleased to attend the COP26, the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, in Glasgow, stating that climate change and environmental protection are topics that can bring the world closer at this time.

Speaking about Montenegro as a country of exceptional ecological potentials, DPM Abazović stated that the Montenegrin Government for the first time got the Ministry of Ecology when the 42nd Government of Montenegro was formed. In that sense, Abazović pointed out that in the previous year, some significant results were achieved in the field of environmental protection, noting the results achieved regarding small hydro power plants and the Salina in Ulcinj.

Abazović stated that Montenegro is a country with exceptional natural resources and opportunities for development into renewable energy sources, noting that in some parts of the country there are more than 250 sunny days a year.

COP26 Regional Ambassador for Europe, Central Asia, Turkey David Moran pointed out that he was looking forward to coming to Montenegro and that he was ready to provide support to our country in the field of green policy development. Emphasising the importance of natural resources in the modern world, Moran pointed out that the world's current interest in the fight against climate change is greater than ever before.
