Abazović: Only through certain sacrifice can we help Montenegro
Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazović, answering journalists' questions, said that he and Minister of the Interior Sergej Sekulović, at the meeting with Assistant Directors of the Police Directorate, stressed that they have no obligation to anyone except the Constitution and laws of Montenegro.
DPM Abazović said that he was satisfied with the Assistant Directors chosen by Director of the Police Directorate Zoran Brđanin and emphasised that the position of Assistant Director of the Police Directorate carries with it a great responsibility and that they should not be subject to any political, family or friends' influence. Abazović pointed out that they have absolutely no obligation towards him and Minister Sekulović.
"Your only obligation is to act professionally, efficiently and in accordance with the law," Abazović said.
DPM Abazović said that the Assistant Directors of the Police Directorate should choose their teams consisted of persons whom they trust the most and who will stand behind their results. Abazović said that this is the only way to reach the ultimate goal, which is to restore confidence in the integrity of the Police Directorate and each officer individually.
"That will mean much better results in the fight against corruption and organized crime," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
DPM Abazović said that although these are responsible functions that bring with them pressure, both personally and on their family members, only through certain sacrifice can we all help Montenegro.
"In the end, the feeling that you have done something honorable and professional for yourself and your country will overcome all those daily pressures on members of the Police Directorate," concluded the Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro.
