Abazović takes part in Dubrovnik Forum

‎Prime Minister ‎Dritan Abazović‎‎ participated in the sixteenth Dubrovnik Forum "Navigating the Global Reshuffle". The Prime Minister spoke at the panel "World Order out of Order: How to Stabilize World Politics?".‎

‎The Prime Minister pointed to the fact that energy is becoming the most important topic, especially after Russia's aggression against Ukraine. ‎

‎Montenegro is not dependent on gas and has a stable energy situation, and as such did not increase electricity prices in the previous period, the Prime Minister said.‎

‎He also spoke about the Adriatic-Ionian gas pipeline and the potential for green transition in the region, as well as the intentions for the construction of ‎‎the LNG ‎‎ terminal in the Port of Bar as one of the key projects in the field of ensuring sustainable development.‎

‎Abazović called on the countries of the region to take joint action towards the implementation of the gas pipeline project, which can be supported by the European Union.

‎On the sidelines of the forum, the Prime Minister spoke with his Croatian ‎‎counterpart Andrej Plenković‎‎, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy ‎‎Josep Borrell‎‎, Secretary General of the Council ‎‎of Europe Marija Pejčinović Burić‎‎, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani‎‎, US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans ‎‎Gabriel Escobar‎‎, as wel as with foreign ministers of the countries of the region and others.‎

The Forum featured keynote speeches by senior officials, an opening geopolitical panel, and additional panels dealing separately with Europe’s energy transition, the challenges in the Mediterranean basin, the Western Balkans’ Euro-Atlantic path and the EU’s global role, as well as a special OECD talk.
