Borovinić Bojović, Kisić Tepavčević: Fight against coronavirus is a task that requires joined forces
The delegation of the Government of Montenegro, headed by Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović, within the first official visit to Serbia, met today with Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Darija Kisić Tepavčević.
Minister Borovinić Bojović informed Minister Kisić Tepavčević about the current epidemiological situation caused by the coronavirus in Montenegro, the challenges that the health system is facing, how the vaccination process is going and what epidemiological measures are in force. Speaking about the vaccination process, Minister Borovinić Bojović stated that the priority was given to the oldest citizens, and that our country has achieved significant results in the vaccination of health workers.
The Minister of Health once again expressed gratitude to Serbia for its help in the fight against coronavirus and pointed out that good relations between the two closest neighbouring countries are of inestimable importance for the functioning of the states.
The Serbian Minister informed the Montenegrin delegation about the situation caused by the coronavirus and said that Serbia is ready to continue providing assistance and support to Montenegro in all areas. Minister Kisić Tepavčević, who is also a member of the Crisis Staff for the suppression of COVID-19, pointed out that Serbia has achieved significant results in the field of vaccination of the population, which, as she said, is the most effective way to suppress the virus.
Both sides agreed that regional cooperation in the fight against COVID-19 is very important. The meeting concluded that the common goal is to improve this cooperation and to affirm fraternal and good neighbourly relations between Montenegro and Serbia.
