Congratulations arrive on the occasion of Minister Krivokapić’s appointment

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ranko Krivokapić received congratulations for taking office from heads of diplomacies of the Republic of Italy, Luigi Di Maio, the Slovak Republic, Ivan Korčok, Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, the Principality of Andorra, Maria Ubach i Font, as well as Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić and Secretary General in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Roberto Montella.

Head of Italian Diplomacy Di Maio expressed his country's friendship and support for Montenegro's path towards the European Union, stating that integration is strategically important for our future. Di Maio expressed hope that he would soon meet with his Montenegrin colleague, which would be an opportunity for exchanging opinions and modalities for strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Pointing out that Slovakia will continue to provide support to our country on the European path, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of that country Ivan Korčok commended the results which Montenegro has achieved so far in the integration process, especially emphasizing the alignment with the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU.

Minister Szijjarto expressed pleasure with mutual work that leads to further strengthening of bilateral cooperation, and reaffirmed Hungary's strong support for Montenegro's European path.

In Ubach i Font’s congratulatory letter, it is stated that strong friendly ties connect Montenegro and Andorra, and that this country will continue to improve excellent relations through bilateral and multilateral co-operation.

Pejčinović Burić expressed her belief that, under Minister Krivokapić's experienced leadership, excellent co-operation with the Council of Europe will continue to develop. She pointed out that at a time when our continent is facing challenges without precedent, Montenegro can count on their support in the reform efforts, especially through the COE Programme Office in Podgorica.

In his congratulatory letter, Montella stated that Krivokapić’s appointment does not prove only his political experience but also the trust which his colleagues placed in him in difficult times in our history. Assesing that Krivokapić is a long-time friend and former president of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, he wished a lot of success to the Foreign Minister in his new mission.

On the occasion of Minister Krivokapić’s appointment, Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Estonia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and North Macedonia, Ann Linde, Eva-Maria Liimets, Teodora Genchovska, Dmytro Kuleba and Bujar Osmani, sent their congratulations through Twitter. They expressed their belief that excellent bilateral relations between Montenegro and their countries will continue in the future, and expressed support for the European perspective of our country.
