Czech Republic dedicated to the European future of the Western Balkans
Close historical and cultural ties are the basis of good and friendly relations that Montenegro and the Czech Republic traditionally cherish – Head of Montenegrin Diplomacy Đorđe Radulović said during the meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of that country Janina Hrebičkova.
Welcoming the newly appointed Ambassador, Minister Radulović expressed his belief that fruitful bilateral co-operation between two countries will be continued and additionally strengthened during her term.
Ambassador Hrebičkova which from 2013. To 2016. served as the Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro and is an experienced connoisseur of the Western Balkans, expressed her pleasure for having an opportunity to once again serve in our country. She also commended the progress Montenegro made on its European path.
In that context, she stressed that the Czech Republic will remain committed to the European future of the Western Balkans, and conveyed the readiness of her country to provide expert support through organization of study visits and round tables, in order to speed up the process of Montenegro’s accession into the EU.
Radulović expressed gratitude for the support which Czech Republic provides to Montenegro in achieving its main foreign political goals. Assessing the upcoming Czech presidency of the Council of the EU as being very important for Montenegro, Head of Montenegrin Diplomacy pointed out that Czech experience will contribute to the improvement of the integration process of the whole region.
Expressing pleasure by the level of co-operation in the area of economy, Minister Radulović welcomed the evident interest of Montenegrin and Czech businessmen for improving relations of the two countries in this field. He pointed out his expectation that the level of Czech investments in Montenegro will rise in the upcoming period. Minister also mentioned the increasing number of Czech tourists who gladly visit our country and assessed that there is a strong potential for improving interstate co-operation in this area.
